SONY FX9
Full Frame Camera

The FX9 is Sony’s latest digital cinema camera that sports a full-frame sensor with 15 stops of dynamic range and a dual ASA of 800 and 4000.

The FX9 shares the same body style of the FS7 but with some welcomed new features. A timecode in/out port is now directly on the body. Another new feature is the Variable ND filter that can automatically adjust to changing light in the scene. Sony also borrowed the s709 LUT from the Venice and made it standard in the FX9.

Currently, in full-frame mode, the FX9 can record up to 30fps at UHD from a 6k downsampled area. To achieve 60fps, you have to use a 5k crop mode which crops the full-frame image by 17%. If you crop to a super 35 field of view you can record up to 60fps at UHD or 120fps at 1080p.
