WE NOW OFFER OUR CANON K35 PRIMES IN A SOLID NEW HOUSING BY ZERO OPTIK.
While the Canon K35’s have long been loved for their beautiful glass, the original housings have been a thorn in the side of many camera assistants. These new housings by Zero Optik will cement the legacy of these primes for many years to come.
SOLID
MECHANICS
The first thing you’ll notice is the new low gloss black housings and silky smooth focus rotation courtesy of spring loaded, Cooke-style, cams. The old design used brass threads to guide the focus element which would cause the threads to bind while using clip on matteboxes. The new housings have consistent gear locations, 95mm outer diameter fronts, and stainless steel PL mounts.
IMPROVED CLOSE FOCUS
With a new housing design brings the ability to push the boundaries of what was once possible. Most of the primes have improved close focus abilities.
THE 18MM
What was once the redheaded stepchild of the set, the 18mm has been upgraded with a 95mm front and an improved close focus of 6”. The rear element was re-polished which will help this lens match nicer with the rest of the family.
